During this year’s Wood-Science-Economy Conference, he will give a presentation entitled “The African Forestry-Wood Sector: Challenges, Opportunities, Barriers, and Strengths.”
Education:
- He earned a BSc in Biology from the University of Cape Coast (Ghana) in August 2000.
- He completed a Magister (MEng) in Forestry at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (Poland) in July 2007.
- He also holds an MSc in Forest Information Technology from the Eberswalde University of Sustainable Development (Germany) in July 2007.
- He was awarded a PhD in Forest Sciences from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in February 2016.
Profession & Research Career
He is currently the Director at the Institute of Research, Innovation and Development (IRID) at the Kumasi Technical University. His research focuses on topics such as forest cover and land‐use change, remote sensing and satellite imagery analysis, and CO₂ sequestration modelling in forested and land-use systems in Ghana and West Africa. He has also engaged in applied projects like monitoring forest degradation around Kumasi, Ghana via multi-temporal satellite analysis (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=BogDDEQAAAAJ&hl=en).
